1. Video Assisted Training Materials

The training materials "Person-centred active support" were developed by the Tizard Centre and United Response and were published by Pavilion in Spring 2005. They can be used by individuals studying for their National Vocational Qualifications or LDAF as well as by trainers and managers leading groups of staff. The materials deal with the rationales for person-centred active support, the essentials of active support and what is needed for successful implementation. They deal with issues faced by managers and provide the evidence base for this approach. Written and electronic text-based materials are complemented by PowerPoint presentations for those training groups of people and a host of video clips to illustrate the approach. For more information and to order the pack please go to the Pavilion Publishing website.

2. Workshops and in-service training and consultancy

The Tizard Centre offers a number of different training options to help organisations implement person-centred active support within their services. These range from one-day workshops and hands-on/interactive training through to full implementation projects including baseline and post-training data collection. Go to the Tizard Centre's Training pages for further information.  NEW Training for trainers course starting Friday 6th November 2009.
